She had the brains of a lab and the docile nature of the dane. Easily knew 80 commands, perhaps more, and could transfer learned skills to figure out similar situations. So glad Dixie now has you...sounds like all involved has found happiness.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3390666066197284713.post-80616174706660338272012-04-12T17:14:06.110-05:002012-04-12T17:14:06.110-05:00Hi I just recently adopted a Labradane, from some ...Hi I just recently adopted a Labradane, from some druggies who'd rather charge a rehoming fee in order to get drug money than take care of her. Her name is Dixie and she is six months old!! However I do believe that she will look exactly like Mayli!! Our poor dixie is now starting to thicken up but She is such a joy that we have added to our family!! I do a lot of doggy dreaming - I run and bark in my sleep. My barks turn into throat squeaks because my mouth stays closed and my body shakes all over as my legs move around. Jeannie has seen me wake up lazily from sleeping on the couch, then try to get up in the most awkward ways. I just sort of flop my body off the couch and, when she's watching, she's often nervous that I might miss a step and fall. I think this is the most likely explanation. Then only way to make sure I sleep in one certain place at night is to crate me (I like to migrate from bed to bed throughout the night). Jeannie and Ben (and my poor elbow!) really appreciate your insight. Thank you so much for stopping by! :)

-Mayli the LabradaneMayli the Labradanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17074186724568516533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3390666066197284713.post-25138412583502734082011-03-23T23:53:10.618-05:002011-03-23T23:53:10.618-05:00Oh, Mayli, we're so sorry 'we' [it'...Oh, Mayli, we're so sorry 'we' [it's entirely our mama's fault, of course] have not been getting around to all our blog friends as often as we would like. We sure hope you're feeling better. Being a large sized doggie, you might want to think about sleeping on a big bed on the floor and not on the sofa at night. Sofas are not really designed for large sized doggies to do deep sleeping, because the doggie can move around in her sleep and fall off the sofa and sprain or tear a ligament or tendon, or injure a joint, in the fall. You can still sleep on the sofa during the day and to watch TV with your peeps and stuff. Just a suggestion.

Anyway, we hope you recover soon and that your mom gets her thesis done.

Jed & AbbyJed and Abby in MerryLandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00782709825274199133noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3390666066197284713.post-86277166133209918972011-03-23T08:53:32.372-05:002011-03-23T08:53:32.372-05:00You poor thing! I'm not sure how old you are but big, young dogs generally get panosteitis every once in a while especially when they're still growing.

My son, River had pano for a while. One minute he would start limping & then in a few days time, it's gone. And the pain shifts around. One minute it is the front leg, the next it is the back. Next time, it is a different leg. It's not life threatening though. The dog will grow out of it after a while. OR maybe you just sprained it. OR you've been sleeping on cold floors. Whatever it is, I hope it will get better soon!Amber-Maehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16183603626694384497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3390666066197284713.post-86503782127860945002011-03-23T03:57:29.258-05:002011-03-23T03:57:29.258-05:00Now, take easy there :) We don't want you to h...Now, take easy there :) We don't want you to hurt your foot again. I did see your post about your Kennel COugh sickies and I've been meaning to leave a note asking how you were but just never had the time!

Anyway, am really pleased to hear that you're on the mend! As you know, I play really rough and I somtimes get this thing called "tendonitis" in my front paw which makes me limp a bit. It's always the same paw and i have a bit of an "old war wound" now - but I'm usually fine after a few day's rest/gentle exercise and some anti-inflammatories.

Hope you are feeling back to normal soon and able to enjoy the dog park again!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great DaneAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09116997529248428606noreply@blogger.com
